Reduce Heating Costs with Green Deal – the smart way to keep fuel costs down
Are high fuel costs making it impossible to keep your home warm?
Want to make your home more environmentally friendly?
Want to make your rental property more attractive to tenants?
Need a new boiler, central heating system or insulation to reduce heating costs?
With rising fuel prices and ever tighter household budgets, keeping warm and heating your home is getting harder and harder.
For many of us, however, money spent on heating our homes is often wasted as poor insulation and old, inefficient boilers and heating systems cost much more to run. That means that many household fuel bills are a lot higher than they need be and we are creating far more CO2 emissions that we need to as well!
The big problem is that it requires even more money to make the changes that will ultimately reduce fuel bills and when the household budget is already tight – the cost of installing a new boiler, cavity wall insulation or even solar heating is simply unaffordable
So we keep on wasting money on high fuel bills which is not good for our finances….. or the environment!
That’s where the Green Deal comes in!
Green Deal is a great new idea which helps you to install a new heating system or other fuel saving measures* without the problem of having to pay for it now. It is a government run scheme which is supported by B&Q, Screwfix and other home improvement specialists that means that you could have a warmer home without extra cost - today!
In fact, with Green Deal, it is the fuel cost savings that you will be making from the home improvements that pay for them to be fitted; so there isno extra costto you at all. You simply get better heating or insulation without more bills and both your finances, and the environment, will ultimately be better off.
*There is a wide range of fuel saving measures that may qualify for Green Deal savings. Ask for more details.
So here is an idea of what it could mean for you…
Your current fuel bills are £140/mth and your gas boiler is over 15 years old. Quotes for fitting a replacement heating system are around £5400 and it is estimated that fitting this will reduce your energy costs by £60/mth.
Green Deal funding for your new heating system may be available as this could be repaid by your monthly savings in 90 months – well below the expected life of a new system.
The collection of these savings to pay for the improvements is managed by your current energy suppliers so you would continue to pay £140/mth to your current suppliers until the system was paid for. There would be no increase in your payments at all, there are no credit checks or complicated administration and you would have a new heating system which is using less fuel and has lower CO2 emissions.
Once the system installation is paid for your bills will then reduce to the new usage rate.
